Remember that time that I unintentionally took a two week vacation from blogging? Whoops! I had good intentions to work from the road, but I decided instead to abandon all responsibilities and just enjoy myself. I do realize that I take a lot of vacations, but this is the first time that I really unplugged and let myself take it easy. Needless to say, very few pictures were taken. I kind of loved it.
We put a lot of miles on George’s car while we were gone. We drove from Houston to Albuquerque to Durango to Taos to Albuquerque to Houston. I think I’m good on road trips for a while.
My fiance George is from Albuquerque, so we try to go out there as much as possible to visit his family. We knew we wanted to go out there this summer some time, and July was the most convenient month for us. It just so happened that his family would be vacationing at Vallecito Lake (near Durango, Colorado) during the time that we had planned to visit. We ended up tagging along on their vacation, which is how we wound up in a lakeside cabin in beautiful Colorado. I like to refer to it as our “meta-vacation” since it was a vacation while on vacation.
These photos were taken in downtown Durango, which was the cutest little place! They had tons of shops and restaurants to browse around in. I ended up getting an adorable little polka dot dress, which I’m sure ya’ll will see on here soon! The rest of our short time spent in Colorado involved fishing/sunning from a boat on the lake, making smores, laughing with all the silly kiddos, and catching up on my reading.
