Today I’m sharing the last of our favorite photos from Santorini. Everything was so beautiful and we had such a blast! One of our favorite days of the entire trip was the day that we took a boat tour of the caldera (photos 8-13). The boat took us out to Nea Kameni to hike the volcano, then George went swimming in the hot springs (I opted for sipping champs on the boat instead), followed by lunch and lounging on the island of Thirassia. George was happy to hike and swim, and I was happy to relax and enjoy the views (while learning a lot!), so we both had a fantastic day.
I also have to give a little shout out to an awesome bookstore we visited while in Oia, Atlanis Books (photos 6-7). It’s essentially a tiny bookstore in (what feels like) a cave, randomly tucked into the tourist shops and restaurants in the hustle and bustle of Oia. They have a wide variety of books in several different languages stacked all the way to the ceiling, so we had lots of fun browsing! I picked up a Greek novel translated into English, and George picked up one of his favorite books (East of Eden) to take home as souvenirs.
I love looking back at our photos, but I don’t think any picture could ever fully capture how beautiful Santorini is in person. There is something so magical about being in a place that looks WAY prettier than a postcard. I could never fully describe how vivid and bright Greece is in person, so I’m going to need you all to go and check it out for yourselves 🙂
