Today I’m keeping it super casual with a road trip outfit I wore on the way to Fredericksburg, TX this past weekend. I always attempt to look somewhat put together every time I take a road trip, but comfort is the first priority. I like to go with either stretchy jeans or loose pants, with layers on top in order to easily adjust to the different temperatures inside and outside of the car. You can catch some of my previous road trip outfits here, here, here or here (yes, we spend a lot of time in the car!). I loved this particular outfit because 1) cat print! 2) it was so comfortable and 3) my friend Silky gave me everything I’m wearing. I’m very thankful for stylish friends who enjoy cleaning out their closets!
We took these photos at the hotel/lodge we stayed at in Fredericksburg when we arrived on Friday. Everything about the property was SO cute! It was cold and rainy that evening, so there was a fire burning on the back patio which was really nice. We just hung out for a while and relaxed after being in the car for hours. The hotel was right in the heart of the town and walking distance to all of the restaurants and shops on Main St. We made a plan that evening to walk to the closest restaurant we could find since it was raining. We decided to stop in a few shops first, but then it started pouring! Luckily we had an umbrella, so we stuffed ourselves with German food and then walked back to our room for an early night.
We were very fortunate that the rest of the weekend was the most perfect weather you could imagine. It was a little cooler than we had expected, but it was so beautiful and sunny. We spent all day Saturday going to different wineries and then we explored the rest of the shops on Sunday before we left town. It was the perfect weekend to be outside just walking around. We found a fantastic burger place right off of Main St. called Jennie’s that was so good we ate there twice! We also really enjoyed all of the wineries we visited, with our favorite being Grape Creek Vineyards.
After this weekend it’s weird to think that neither George or myself had been to Fredericksburg in over a decade. What the heck? We’ll definitely be visiting more often in the future after seeing how much there is to do. I’m already feeling anxious to go back! Have any of you ever been to Fredericksburg? I’d love to hear your favorite places!
